  • Now that it’s done, what narrative will ESPN and surrounding basketball media run into the ground now?

    • Congrats to the Heat for finally getting over the hump. They’ll never be my favorite team but they did battle and are much less annoying than they were last year.
    • Oh, OKC, in the end I was right about you, even though I very much wanted to be wrong. That’s okay, I believe this team will get one and be a constant threat.

  • NBA Playoffs: because this feels like an end

    • Even if OKC manages to win the next game, I just don’t see them overcoming being down 3-2 to MIA. They can feel free to prove me wrong but, on this, I think I’m right.
    • We are so close to the end of the ‘Ringless King’ thing with James, I don’t know if I’ll recognize most nba blogs when that time comes. Will it be a better place? Oh wait, Westbrook still exists….
    • Here is what I said about OKC going into the playoffs: they have such talent, but I fear for their consistency and execution. My fears were almost realized with the Spurs, and then I got comfortable but here my suspicions about OKC are being realized v MIA.
    • Let Westbrook be Westbrook. I like him, rough edges and all.
    • OKC can only get better: smarter with their play, rely less on outrunning their opponents, stay keyed in on total defense. There’s going to be a lot of talk about destiny with these finals and ‘it not being their time’ but there have been enough times where certain decisions should have been different. Last year they lose the WCF in 5, now it looks like it’s going to be the Finals. At this rate, next year, I’m calling OKC. Whatever, too soon, I do what I want.

  • “Everything moves so smoothly, so swiftly, those endless arms and legs unfolding in perfect symmetry … The stakes rise, defenses stiffen and, still, Durant unfurled the fabulous, full treatment on LeBron James … Those arms and legs are endless, unfolding everywhere on the floor.”

Have to agree with C-Webb on the topic of Blake Griffin’s flopping. It’s like he’s developing a split personality. On the one hand there is the ferocious dunker, “Quake”, yet other times some guy named “Fake” Griffin shows up. “Fake” is the guy who looks to Kenyon Martin for comfort when he sees Zach Randolph glaring at him.

It was pretty awesome hearing both Barkley and C-Webb putting Blake Griffin on blast last night for being soft.
